Do I Need A Hearing Instrument?
Many like to think a hearing instrument is unnecessary because they
hear perfectly well. Hearing loss however is deceiving. While many
sounds may be audible, others – especially those that enhance speech
clarity – may have faded.
Confirmed Hearing Loss –Now What?
Having a hearing instrument tailored to your needs and preferences
takes more than one appointment. Typically at least three
appointments are necessary to identify the scope of your hearing
difficulties. Once that is settled, further appointments are usually
scheduled to fit and fine tune the hearing instruments to your
needs.

Current hearing instruments are available in 5
styles which are designed to meet your specific hearing needs.

Behind-The-Ear (BTE)
BTE solutions fit behind your ear and are attached to a
custom made earmold. They can be fitted with a standard tubing
and earmold for maximum power or a very thin tube with a
soft silicone dome or a smaller custom made earmold. |

In-The-Ear (ITE)
These are custom made to fit within your entire ear. |
|
|
In-The-Canal (ITC)
These are small enough to fit almost entirely in your
ear canal making them hardly noticeable.

|
Completely-In-The-Canal (CIC)
These are the smallest available instruments and are
virtually invisible. |

Receiver-In-The-Ear
(RITE)
These combine the benefits of both the BTE and CIC
instruments. They are virtually invisible as the speaker
unit is hidden inside the ear canal. |
